Benni Gets UEFA Pro Licence, Highest Qualification in Football

Hanover Park’s Benni McCarthy has always been a driven person and this is what led him to become the first South African to win a UEFA Champions League in 2004.

The 40 year old once again displayed his drive to succeed by earning the highest qualification in football, the UEFA Pro Licence.

He becomes only the third South African and only coach in the PSL to earn this accolade.

Benni received his diploma and card on Thursday during a ceremony in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

He started doing courses in the UK to obtain a Uefa B-Licence after which he pursued an A-Licence which he received through the Irish Football Association.

After his club’s recent MTN8 win, the Cape Town City coach is on a high.

It was rumoured that he will moving to a coaching position in Europe, but Benni confirmed that he has no intention of leaving Cape Town City.
